I read somewhere that 55Hz is optimal for *people* (something to do with
brain rhythms), but no, we're stuck with 50Hz and 60Hz (especially in Japan
- west of Nara (?saka etc) is 100V/60Hz, east (T?ky? etc) is 100V/50Hz!).

As for your 64Hz suggestion, sorry, AC line frequencies predate computers
by, um, a lot.
