Subject: Domesday System
Hi everyone --
I am currently in the middle of a shedload of personal changes in my
life, and as such I'm going to be ridding myself of a substantial amount
of Beeb gear* in the fairly near future. I'll ask for expressions of
interest closer to the time (so please don't bombard me with 'do you
have' type requests), but...
I am selling my Domesday system.
This comprises:
- LV player
- LV player remote
- BBC Master AIV
- Discs for Community, National, and a set of boxed Countryside discs
- Box for the discs, manual, and a few other bits and bobs of
cards/guides
- Monitor (not original Domesday one, but same model)
- Trackball
- Documentation from the original submission kit sent to schools
- Service manual as a PDF
This works, WITH THE FOLLOWING CAVEATS:
a) The sound from the LV player is extremely quiet, so much as it's
nonexistent. This MAY be an easy fix if you want to have a go.
Picture/genlock etc. is fine.
b) Occasionally (especially when out of use for a long time) the
perpendicular focusing mechanism temporarily fails. However, it's quite
easy to un-stick it and get it going again (I've done so while at shows
with nothing more complicated than my little finger). Again, permanent
fix may be easy but it's a minor inconvenience so I haven't bothered
pulling it to bits.
It's the setup I've been touring at shows for a few years. It doesn't
seem to overheat - I've run it for 6-8 hours at a stretch on
demonstration and it's been fine.
I do not really want to have to muck around with eBay, and I do not
want to donate it for free/gratis to a museum as it cost me money in the
first place to obtain it and get it going. I will not split the bits, it
goes as a complete setup.
If any organisation or person would like to make me an initial
(SENSIBLE) offer commensurate with age and condition for the entire lot,
please contact me privately and offlist at joel@... Feel
free to forward this to other parties you feel may be interested. I am
looking to sort this out fairly soon as I am having a major clearout and
would like it to go to a good home!
Cheers anyway and hope you're all well,
jess
