Already tried that, nothing, and I've tried John K's suggestion of 
typing *Configure MonitorType 3 (or 4) blind and still no joy.

I think I need to drag one of my old crt monitors out of storage and try 
it with them rather than using the vga input on my Tv although I'm sure 
it's syncing okay or why would I get a red screen and a green screen but 
then nothing, not even a 'signal out of range' message.

In the meantime I've got my Master cleaned up and running again so I'm 
nearly ready for a 6502 second processor.
