Subject: OT: Beeb for real work

Tangentially to Beeb stuff, I've just submitted a response on proposed
new wards for Sheffield City Council: mdfs.net/lgbr2013/jgh

Tangentially Beeb related in that I originally did a lot of the typing
up and number manipulation for the 2002/2004 review a decade ago on my
BBC Master.

I'd taken an Amstrad Notebook into the library and typed up all the
city's polling district electorates, then at home copied the data over
to the Beeb. I then wrote bits of code to chop up and add up the various
numbers to see what models would get close to the required quota, and to
identify areas where I'd have to get the big maps out and start counting
individual houses.

Anyway, that's this decade's done. I can get back to doing some proper
Beeb programming now, get that Acorn Atom Tube host finished, patch
Atomulator to make it emulate a System.
