Mmm. I daresay that now someone has done all the hard work on the solution,
it'll just keep getting better and smaller like it usually does.
It's a bit like a Ferrari John - we may not know how to build one, or talk
much about it on forums - but we would still like one if they were cheap
enough (and we can respect the expertise and devotion)!
Personally, after repeated disappointments with VGA convertors, I could live
with one. Any chance of a review sample? ;)

A Terasic DE1 development board plus some generic HDMI extension board for
some platform. I'll probably be porting the whole thing to the Cyclone V GX
Starter Kit. This has an HDMI transmitter built in (but no VGA, which was my
intermediate, in between the earlier digitised version of TTL RGB output (->
Scart), and DVI / HDMI.
