I'm not sure but I don't think this is the case.  I will check shortly.

Before today, there was a slow trickle which all had a from address associated
with a long standing member of the list.  I suspect todays deluge is probably
the same but I don't recognise the address.  If it is following the previous
pattern, the list is accepting the mails because the address is subscribed.
