Subject: Chip extractors - any recommendations?

Having considered all these options carefully I'm going for the
screwdriver/bracket method (thanks JG) and Ebay 331768942788.

Those horrible memories of chip extractions are returning now, and I do
remember that having both was useful (the second because of limited leverage
in certain circumstances). I think I actually used a stapler remover once
-cough-.

I take the point this is 'old school' (although arguably still a market for
the enthusiast PCB builder) but there is probably a better way perhaps using
a tool that hasn't specifically been designed for this job - if I see
anything I'll copy it back to the list.

Thanks for your input everyone, appreciated as always.

Kind regards

John T.

Bear in mind that the first of those is designed solely for PLCCs and won't
do anything useful with most DIL ICs.
