I've got both boards and I've never actually used them - I just picked them 
up back in my "try to obtain an example of everything that Acorn ever made" 
days.

Back in the day I expect they were useful when dealing with high volumes of 
faulty machines, but for the "one offs" more likely encountered by 
enthusiasts these days, I expect traditional fault-finding techniques are 
at least comparable, and often faster.
