Thanks Theo
The soldering station (?32) looks interesting, just have to check for spare
bits...

The iron is fine, it's the small nuclear reactor you have to drag around
after it that's the problem...
CPC often have reasonable own-brand irons at almost
just-off-the-boat-from-China prices.
For example, there are some listed on page 31 of their current brochure:
http://cpc.farnell.com/wcsstore/ExtendedSitesCatalogAssetStore/cms/asset/pdf
/europe/cpc/publications/Makerspace_16.pdf
Notably:
http://cpc.farnell.com/tenma/21-10115-uk/soldering-station-digital-esd/dp/SD
0173809
and
http://cpc.farnell.com/duratool/d01843/soldering-station-48w/dp/SD0169609
and they have some others in the main catalogue:
http://www.easyflip.co.uk/CPC_Digital_Catalogue/?page=2852
(if the horrid flash doesn't work, you can go to the main website)
Note most of these prices are ex-VAT, so add 20%.
