Subject: Analogue Joysticks
Hi all
Slightly off topic this but please bear with me
Does anyone know anything
about ?retro? joysticks?
Specifically I?m looking to buy one (either genuine BBC analogue) or
standard Atari style as I have a Protek joystick interface. Pretty much
its only workout will be to connect to my BBC B to play Revs ? which still
remains the best driving ?game? (sacrilege to call it a ?game? I know) I?ve
played.
My joystick of choice back in 1986 was a WICO ?The Boss? joystick as it
wasn?t micro switched. For Revs, I want something smooth i.e. not
micro-switched. Trouble is ? while you can pick up a ?Boss? joystick on
ebay for ?20 ? often they?re US imports and also they weren?t 100% reliable
? however brilliantly they handled.
Can anyone suggest a joystick for playing Revs? I favour the ones you
operate with your whole hand as opposed to the Voltmace types that are more
handled with your thumb in my opinion.
Cheers
Rob
