Date : Tue, 21 Sep 1982 08:02:00-EDT From : Frank J Wancho <FJW@Mit-Mc> Subject: Why... The bounce of large-list mail, such as to INFO-CPM and INFO-MICRO, via BRL, then BRL-BMD, and back to BRL, is a hack to get around the problem that when it was direct, certain hosts would timeout while BRL verified every entry in the destination list. It was more of a waste when the mail did not get through at all.
