Subject: The New ZCPR - ZCPR3
Work is beginning on the creation of ZCPR3, and I would
like to poll the user community to determine their feelings on a
few points. Please respond to those questions you feel strongly
about or have definite input for. Lack of response to a yes/no
question will be assumed to mean No.
1. [Fill in the Blank] Please provide details on any
ZCPR2 utility which exhibits a definite bug. Please describe the
nature of the bug, the sequence of operations or commands which
cause it, and enough information to ensure that it can be
duplicated by someone who is trying to identify and correct the
bug.
2. [Yes/No] Does anyone mind if the disk-based named
directory facility is removed? Memory-based (as an option) named
directories will be retained in ZCPR3, but the value of the
disk-based named directory facility is being questioned in lieu
of the cost in terms of the added size of the utilities.
3. [Yes/No] Does anyone object to the removal of the
disk-based command file facility? This would mean that
SUB2/SUBMIT will no longer work, and the memory-based ZEX command
file processor will be the only command file facility which can
be used.
A prompt reply will be appreciated. Thank you.
