Subject: Writing ZCPR3 Programs

There has been a recent increase in interest by people to write
ZCPR3 programs, and I would like to encourage this. One thing that Echelon
and I and really pushing in this regard is the idea that ZCPR3 programs
are CONSISTENT with each other in a variety of ways -- how the options
are invoked, how online help is obtained, etc. It is this consistency
that adds to the value of the ZCPR3 system; in particular, the classic problems
found under so many CP/M programs, such a "what options are available"
and "how do I invoke the options", are not encountered. I really recommend
that those wanting to write ZCPR3 programs consider this and read the
Echelon newsletters. One of the newsletters, in particular, outlines
all the major facets that enhance the consistency of the toolset. In general,
the newsletters serve to answer the common questions and provide
much insight into the operational and user-interface aspects of the system.

               Rick
