Before you buy a replacement---try opening the print head from the back
and putting a very small drop of fine grade machine oil (like sewing
machine oil) on the rear of the pins. Then "exercise" the missing pins by
printing lots of hhhhhh's and lllll's. This worked for us a year ago when
we lost the descender pins on our Epson Fx-80 and we have had no further
trouble. The oil will cost about $2-3 dollars for a full bottle,
(available at the local drug store) and a print head will run between
$80-100.
