Subject: Significant change:

Fellow CP/Mers - Those of you who are familiar with goings-on in the Defense
Data Network will know that a new addressing scheme called "domain addressing"
is being used in the ARPANET and tried on a voluntary basis by many hosts in
the MILNET. And it will soon become the mandatory standard in the MILNET too.
For those unfamiliar with this change, let's just say that domain addressing
is a scheme that allows for a larger number of address paths while requiring
users to do a lot of typing that used to be done by machines (sigh).

Because of the brutal editing job required, I have valiantly procras-
tinated about fixing the info-cpm distribution list to use the new
addresses. But as luck (and good friends) would have it, my buddy Brint
Cooper (a fellow BRL employee and CP/Mer) volunteered! to do the deed, for
which I will be eternally grateful.

The edited list has been subjected to the scrutiny of the address-
checker program we use here, and no errors were found in either format or
hostname-address-strings. Theoretically, there should have been no changes in
the username portions of the addresses, but we all know that editor programs
sometimes do strange and wonderful things. So be warned that tomorrow
(Friday) I am going to install the new list, and we'll see what happens. If
anyone's info-cpm mail suddenly dries up, don't be bashful; COMPLAIN AT ONCE!
