Subject: C64 CP/M woes

I was bitten by the same series of events that have been discussed
with the C64 cartridges. I called CBM a couple of months ago and
they still offer full refunds for the price of the cartridge or
offer to swap an equal amount of CBM software; I protested and said
I just wanted CP/M to work - and could they sell me an old VIC-II
chip... and they said no, but confirmed the story Frank and the
others have retold here - but recommended strongly against such a
plan because it seems the CP/M cartridge is so fragile that they do
not guarantee that even the VIC-swap will work.

Frank, et.al.: how bad does the composite get ? I have a very small
5" monitor (just bigger than Osborne-1 sized) in my portable CBM SX-64
(the ones liquidated by COMB) and use my composite all of the time to
augment that display... if it looses too badly I'll have to give up
on the cartridge maybe. Opinions ?
