re: disk patch utilities.
The FIRST thing you do with any of these types of programs,
is make a copy of one of your good disks, and PRACTICE!
       DU-V89 is on simtel20 PD:<CPM.DSKUTL>DU-V89.LBR
it is a 55k binary file in library format.
       I read somewhere, that when your directory track is
blown, the DU (or others) may not 'lock on' to the disk.
In this case, the recomendation is to put another disk
in the drive, have the disk utility 'lock on' then
swap disks and put the one to be saved in place.
       The DU program is not the most abuser friendly
however, if you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, and PRACTICE,
things should go well.
