Subject: Re: Seeking S100 RAMDISK Card

One of the better s-100 ram-disk boards available is the
LS-100 by Digital Reearch (Computers), Dallas, Tx. It
was about $150. (in kit form) the last I knew. They used
to advertise it quite heavily, but I don't think I've
seen an ad for it in quite a while. It uses 4 banks of
64K DRAM and an 8203 memory controller. I'll bet it is
still available. Why don't you give them a call?? I use
two of them on my s-100, and have had very good luck with
them. There's even an upgrade to 1 meg. available from
George Dombrowski Jr. (SYNC studios, 42 Pondview Drive,
Southington, Ct. 06489 (203) 621-6839). It is too expensive
($275 for existing board or $495 for new) for my blood, but
it's there. D.R. used to sell bare boards with documentation
and software for about $70, so that could be an option as
well. I believe we work for the same organization, and I'd
be glad to help you out with this. I've built one of their
kits, and a bare board!
