I think data should be set to 8 i.e 8bits data tansfer not 5 i.e 5bits per
second? Also check to see if the stop bits 
are set correctly. These should all be explained in you user guide. There
should be a program on the welcome 
disc which has a menu on it which will change the configure settings.

A baud of at least 9600 8bits/ 2 stop bits / No parity should be ok.

There was mentioned somewhere also a slight bug with the masters close file
routeen i.e files do not get 
closed correctly and there should be an update DFS or ADFS on the welcome
disc. YOu could uses CLOSE #0 
to close all files.
