Subject: New TEC Drive

Hi

Having just bought a brand spanking new second hand TEC FB504 drive, I was
easger to plug it into my beeb and go back to having a 2 drive system
again, however, as I opened it up, it became clear that a new cable would
be required, as the card edge connectors were on different sides of each
drive (the other is a Mitsubishi) this was rather annoying, but what is
even more annoying is that the TEC drive does not appear to work. When
plugged in on its own, it refuses to do anything apart from the LED lights.
I was very angry at this at first, but then I noticed that it does not
appear to have a TERMINATING RESISTOR PACK on it. I thought, ah that is
the solution, but I couldn't try it out because I can't add another drive
to the system (all the mitsubishi ones have the option of a resistor pack,
if you select the jumpers). So, another flash of inspiration provided me
with the 3.5 inch drive I had also been meaning to add, as they don't need
TRP's I thought everything would be fine if I used the 3.5 inch drive to
act as one with a TRP, but this time neither drive worked! Unplugging 5.25
inch drive and leaving the 3.5 inch drive in is ok, as the 3.5 inch drive
still works.

Is this the fault of no TERMINATING RESISTOR PACK? Or is it buggered?

Please help, I'm going insane!

Cheers,
