UK Copyright lasts for 70 years from the death of the author, or
from the date of publication if a corporate author (50 years if
before 1992).

And "copyright" does /not/ mean "can't be copied", it means the
copyright owner has complete and utter control of /how/ something
is copied, including the ability to say "make as many copies as
you like".

UK copyright law also allows archive copies without permission
from the copyright holder in order to ensure continued existance
of a work.
