On most fileservers, users are managed by the system administrator with
commands such as *NEWUSER , *REMUSER ,
*SETSPACE , etc. The SJ Research MDFS fileserver uses a
different philosophy. The administrator edits the password file directly.
The SJ password editor editpass is quite a useful program, and I have
modified and adapted it to become a password file editor for other file
servers.
I have also modified my version of the SJ password editor to have an
additional (C)reate option to automatically create a user's User Root
Directory, set the directory's account to the user's personal account number
and credit their account with an initial amount of space. It can also
load and save a backup password file.
