My hardware skill is not very good, having only soldered only a handful
of things. Am I correct in assuming that you only need to connect pins
2,3,7 from the RS232 to the appropriate pins RS423? I think I have the
pin assignments for the RS423 cable in one of the beeb user's guides,
so, I'll check there. Do I have to construct a NULL modem cable and
have a cross over somewhere?

I am not running UNIX, but I think I can use Windows "Terminal", to do
the file transfer [ghastly!].
