Emmm...I had this same problem when I first installed my BBC DFS
many many moons ago. What model of board is it ?
If its a Model 4 or above then I'm assuming you *HAVE* removed
jumper S9 ?
If this is NOT removed, you'll never get it to go past track 0.
S9 is located just right under the Acorn logo, next to the PSU
and just up and to the right of one of the power cables.

Unlikely, although I'd advise you to make one of the links (4?)
to effectively do the *OPT 7,3 to make the drive run as fast as
possible.
