It's not necessarily about wanting/needing an Electron emulator. It's about
wanting to WRITE an Electron emulator, which is a different thing entirely.
I once wrote an emulator for a CBM VIC-20, not because I wanted to be able
to run VIC-20 software, but simply because I wanted to have a crack at
writing an emulator in C++, and the VIC-20 was what I new most about. It's a
great learning experience, not just in programming - It teaches you a lot
more about the hardware too.
