Most tv's these days have a SCART socket on them somewhere. SCART includes pins
for RGB connections, however not all tv's have them connected. According to the
manual for mine it does so if I could be bothered I could make a lead up to
connect the beeb to the tv via rgb. However on the few occasions that I use my
beeb (I tend to use my arc more) it would be more convenient just to use the
phono video input on the front of the tv.

You need to look for a socket (usually a phono type) marked 'video in' or some
such. If your tv does not have one then you should find your video. Then you
just need a simple lead (two connections) between the video out on the master
and the video in on the tv/video. Unfortunalty for reasons best known to Acorn
the beeb (and indeed the arc) only has a black and white video output as
standard hence my posting to ask if you can convert it to colour. If this makes
no sense at all to you please tell me and I will try and explain it a bit better
