Going off on a bit of a tangent here:
If you would begrudge paying Microsoft for their office software then
don't buy it. You can get a complete office productivity suite for FREE
from Sun Microsystems called StarOffice. Documents are fully
interchangeable with MS Office. Either download the 65 meg install file
or pay a modest fee for a cdrom of it to be shipped to you. Details at

Basically Sun is now doing to Microsoft what Microsoft did to Netscape.
It runs on Solaris (SPARC and Intel processors), Microsoft Windows
95/98/NT, OS/2, and Linux, unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a
version for the Beeb.
