Subject: Re: Fw: *TAPE command wont work
Hi Tracy,
The *TAPE command only selects the tape filing system - it doesn't do
any reading/writing!
After the *TAPE command has been given, you must manually set page to
&E00 (and type NEW). But this is only necessary if you need the extra
memory.
Then all the normal LOAD, SAVE, CHAIN, *RUN etc. commands works on the
tape.
Alto try *MOTOR ON and *MOTOR OFF to toggle the relay for motor-control.
Regarding the DFS issues... Your DFS is a Double Density DFS. This means
(as you correctly states) that it sits on an extension board. It also
means that the support chips normally needed by a DFS are not all
needed, and the link you mention is also seen on this kind of DFS, so -
NO panic!!
Happy Beeb'ing and welcome to the club :-)
Regards
Carsten
