The second processor wasn't for processor power as such, it was more
intended to provide compatibility with other operating systems, more memory,
and expandability. The 6502 second processor only really provided extra
memory (and a bit more speed). However, you could also get a Z80 machine,
and a 16-bit 16032.
The main use for the 6502 second processor was with word processing
applications, where the extra memory was useful.
