Energy bomb? Nah, too much of a cop-out. I removed them from Elite-A.

In Elite-A being public enemy number 1 means rather more than in the normal
versions; if you genuinely are that bad, the cops will sally out from the
space station the moment you come in range, regardless of whether the crime
was in their solar system. You'd better have fuel scoops to get away from the
scene of the crime, or an escape pod. Or you'd better be more than merely
Elite...

The real challenge is getting a commander to Elite without ever reverting
from a saved game because you got blown up. If you can do this in the
original Elite, try a harder version!
