That seems right to me.  Internally, the graphics modes are all
1280x1024 (the actual graphics resolution is mapped onto this), giving a
ratio of 1.25.

No idea why the emulators should be different - perhaps to map the BBC
screen onto the VGA modes? (800x600 is 1.33, as are 640x480 and
1024x768)
