As Phil said, your BBC has the Econet networking hardware fitted in
addition to a disc filing system. No Clock means the machine is not
connected to a network - it cannot detect the network clock.

If you press Shift-D-Break, releasing first Break, then Shift, then D,
it should now report

Did you get any discs with the machine? If so, put one in the drive and
press D and Break together, releasing Break first, to try booting from
disc.

This is the combined DNFS - it has DFS and NFS in the same ROM. We now
know why the "unused" Link 1 on your keyboard has been made - it is read
by DNFS and selects whether the machine boots from disc or network.
Your machine has been configured to boot from a network at power-up.

If you cut link 1, you should find that the machine starts in DFS by
default instead of NFS. If you then cut link 5, it will stop it trying
to boot off disc on power-up or pressing Break.

(i.e. links 3 and 4) - they're fine as they are - just worry about 1 and
5 as above.
