There's a contrast control on the rear panel of the monitor, next to the
mains inlet. Tried turning this up? Connected the monitor to the BBC's
RGB socket with a 6pin DIN to 6pin DIN cable? (either way round is OK,
it's connected pin-for-pin)
Microvitecs are normally quite 'whistly' (I think the metal case
amplifies the line whistle), however if the high pitched whine you
mention is very loud, the monitor may have been damaged in transit. Did
the Ebay seller say it was in working order?
