Subject: Solidisk DDFS
Hello everyone
I have a problem with my Beeb. Can anyone help?
1) I have had a BBC B since 1983. It was refitted with a Solidisk DDFS
interface (consisting of a circuit board taking tha place of one of the
'long chips' and a few other tweaks to the motherboard) to enable it to get
twice as much on a normal DFS 5.25" diskette.
2) I managed to get a new power supply in 1998 after the old one had given
up years before so the BBC worked again after all those years!
4) After stupidly fiddling around inside, the DDFS system stopped working. I
think that I have messed up some of the motherboard connections somehow, but
the chip has NOT blown (it still registers with *HELP). The drive just
whirrs forever and gives up trying to read the data in.
Does anyone know about this interface and what the motherboard configuration
consisted of?
If you need anymore info, just ask and I'll try to help.
Thanks
