You should be able to resolve this by studying

And in answer to one of the later emails (saves me posting multiple times)
you can stop Econet being the default filing system by using
 *CONFIGURE FILE <rom number>
Where <rom number> is the ROM in which some other filing system is,you can
list them with *ROMS as ever.
If the ROM number is empty,or pointed to the MOS (probably ROM 15 -
can't remember as my Compact is in the loft!) this will cause the
cassette filing system to be the default.
