Thought I'd just add my comments.  I personally have no problem with the
license fee... maybe because I've never known any different, but it's only
the same in my mind as paying road tax or whatever for some other service.
Yes, it's been said a million times before I know.

What I do know though is that I really appreciate being able to listen to
radio or watch TV programmes uninterrupted by adverts (something which
*really* irritates me with Sky).  I don't really watch a lot of telly, but
even in my poorer days I've never minded coughing up a hundred quid a year
for what is basically a good well-balanced TV/radio service, without
commercial breaks bringing about brain rot every 10 minutes.

No, I don't work for the BBC :-)
