The preferred orientation depends on how you have soldered your plug
together ;-) When I made my serial cable (using the pinout from the back
of the Master Service Manual), I plugged it into the Beeb then marked
the top with my soldering iron so I could remember which way to plug it
in in the future.

Decide which way YOU want the notch to go, and then solder to the pins
accordingly. Does that make any sense? Probably not..... I'm crap at
explaining things!

Hmmm... So, what is the preferred orientation - I had one din plug
sent to me, but that still only has one notch!!
