Fault 18 is 8271-ese for "Sector not found", which usually means that the
disc isn't formatted. The other common ones are 0E "Data CRC error" and 0C
"ID CRC error" meaning that the data on disc is corrupt. (the number is
just the contents of the 8271 result register, in hex).
A thought strikes me in connection with this: the Master uses a WD1770 (or
a 1772?) disc controller not a 8271, which presumably has different error
codes: does the 1770 DFS then translate the codes into 8271 ones?
