Subject: BBC - restarts on it's own - anyone help?

Hello all,

My first post. Am testing a couple of tapes using an old BBC i have. First
couple worked fine then all of a sudden the beeb restarted half through
Ravenskull. Since then I've tried various other tapes and it continues to
restart pretty much as soon I type ch."" and hit return....

also... just a second ago whilst typing above it decided to make several
beebs (kinda tuneful) and then restart again... this time it appeared to
have nothing to do with teh tape player.

don't suppose anyone's come across this before or knows what it is?
