Complete machines, or system boards? Not that it'll make a huge difference to
numbers I suspect, but I'm just thinking that the Acorn business machines got
B+ boards, various models in the Torch range used model B boards, and doubtless
there were various commercial applications which made use of BBC internals. I
assume that the serial numbers stuck on the bottom of BBC/Master machines are
tied to the complete unit, and not the PCB.
Actually, commercial applications are interesting - anybody know the various
places where model B and Master hardware turned up? Presumably there were
various companies other than Torch who had some sort of deal going on with
Acorn to just buy PCBs, so that they could be used in their own applications?
(Telecomms gear, industrial control and the like)
cheers
