Subject: PMS Genie Desktop Organiser or PIM

I've just powered-up a BBC Master from storage, working fine.

This has a PMS Genie Desktop Organizer, I think we call them PIMs today,
which I purchased many years ago for my BBC Micro with a real time clock for
the Beeb. (later upgraded to Masters).

I've not seen any documentation or BBC folk mention these items on the web
for the PMS Genie, although there was one sold on eBay recently.

My problem, I'm surprised it still remembers it's data, it's been off and in
storage for over 17 years!

When I created a password for access to the Genie, I was wise enough to
write the password on a label and stick it on the Genie inside the Master
case, just in case one day I'd forgotten it!

The ballpoint pen on the label has faded!

Anyone on this list work for PMS, there was a procedure, that you gave them
the access code, and they could unlock the password.

I've opened the Genie up for the first time, and there's a 32k eprom, and
two 16k static ram chips, which I assume holds the data and password.

Is this four pin Dallas Chip, the battery backup?

Without the password it's useless, so If I could reset the device, maybe I
could use it again.
