On many BBCs DFS 1.20 has timing problems with 3.5" disk drives. If
Sprow's suggestion oesn't work, you can patch DFS 1.20 to create DFS 1.21
which fixes these problems. Do a web search for 'BBC 3.5 disk JGH' for
other articles discussing this.
 
http://www.mdfs.net/Sotware/Rom/CustDNFS.zip has the patch program. You
will then need to blow the new DFS into a replacement EPROM. If you do not
have the facilities, I can supply DFS 1.21 for ukp1 to cover postage.
