Without digging through all my docs, I believe the higher-numbered System units
were just variations on the earlier machine, only with additional cards. In
other words there probably isn't really a figure for the various models but
only one number for the number of units as a whole.

Hmm, not seen one with a serial number higher than the mid-twenties, but that
isn't to say that there weren't many more farmed out to various labs at the
time that went off to landfill in one go.
