Well I found *another* player yesterday, which I've been told is dead.
However, it does have a stable video output, so I should hopefully be
able to combine boards from the two to get a working unit.

The latest find seems to be a later revision, with cleaned up boards
(not as many hacks) - although I haven't done too much digging yet.

Still waiting to pick up the supposedly-working player that someone said
they have in their loft.

I found a copy of the proper BBC Master AIV manual yesterday - inside of
which it says that the system will work with mice/trackerballs using
either Marconi or AMX wiring. Helpfully it gives the pin connections for
both schemes - turns out that little module present on the museum's
system is just there to present a device using the AMX wiring as a
Marconi device to the BBC. In other words, for the Domesday setup it
isn't exactly useful...

cheers
