I do have the top part but because of the closeness of the pins don=B9t want
to use my blunt nose pliers.

It looks like replacing the transition connector is going to be my best bet
.
I think I'll just replace it with a male header as you suggest, then the id
e
cable will just plug in.  Now I just have to wait for Maplin to get the
parts in.
