Not seen the article you mention, but IIRC there are a few Tube designs
about that don't use the normal Acorn Tube ULA - so it's certainly
possible without sourcing the custom ULA. 

I'll keep an eye out for a spare Master keyboard if you want. What's
broken about yours?
