Subject: XFER cable
Hi again!
This time its an XFER problem.....
I have created the cable as per the instructions in the XFER documentation.
I can get the xfer.bas transferred, and I can execute *commands from my PC
and get the results on the PC (e.g. *cat, *info *.* etc.).
BUT when I try to transfer files or images, the fun stops.
E.g. When trying to transfer a disc-image from the beeb to the PC, it just
stops when displaying the track 0 message (Beeb disc-drive stopping as
well).
When trying to transfer an image or a file from the pc to the beeb, the
beeb-screen quickly flashes some messages and returns to the waiting
prompt (no disc activity), and the PC returns to the xfer-menu right away.
When trying to transfer a diskimage from the beeb to the pc, the screen
output hangs on the beeb with a partly displayed disc-catalogue.
I have tested the cable with a meter, and it seems fine.
What worries me is that it partly works - perhaps indicating handshaking
problems......
I have also tried the PC-BBC serial cable on sprows homepage, but couldn't
get that to work at all??
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Carsten
