Carsten, 

Are you using a BBC Master? I had similar problems with my Master until I 
did *CONFIGURE DATA 5 (maybe need to do CTRL+BREAK afterwards) - then it 
started working. Although you say the initial xfer.bas transfer is 
working, so probably not in your case.
