So data was accessed here via the speech system unless the socket was
connected to a ROM socket in which case it became memory mapped to one
of them?
Sounds like quite an interesting way of loading data. It's a shame it
wasn't used a lot more often with cartridges for games. I did see one
or two cartridges for serious software.
