Subject: Hardware volume control

Waaaaay back in the early Eighties my Dad fitted a roller volume control
to the left side of my Model B, in between the two halves of the case
with just a little bit of the roller sticking out. It was a very neat
job and was great for those late night Repton sessions! (The headphone
socket in the unused Econet port hole was pretty cool too)

Twenty years later and I still want to play Repton at midnight but now I
have kids asleep in the room next door! I *need* to fit a volume control
to my 'new' Beeb.

I can hold a soldering iron and can do wires (but not circuit boards) so
if it's reasonably easy I want to give it a go (Dad lives too far away
and probaby couldn't hold the soldering iron still enough any more! ;)
Can anyone provide pointers on how it can be done?

Cheers
Richard
